Customer Service
Matt Price Driver Training is committed to providing the best customer service possible to make sure every client receives the service and support required, promptly and professionally.

We aim to:

  • Provide a clear and transparent pricing policy.
  • Provide information and impartial advice and guidance in the most appropriate learning style to suit a learner’s needs.
  • Provide a confidential service only asking for and disclosing the minimum necessary data to organise bookings.
  • Meet your training requirements within any agreed time-scales.
  • Inform you as soon as possible if any particulars of your enquiry or booking is to be changed.
  • Ask for your feedback and views on our service so we may evaluate our performance and improve on quality to better meet the needs of our customers.

We ask you to:

  • Provide us with accurate information.
  • Keep us up to date with any changes in your circumstances relevant to your training.
  • Work with us, so together we can achieve your objectives.

 

Data Protection
We are aware of the importance of confidential handling of information as at the time of joining our company, we issue guidelines stating our company policy, defining the importance of confidential handling of information as well as annual refresher training at the time of our re-accreditation inspections.
Data is protected from loss or theft from vehicles and instructors, our office and staff no matter whether in hard copy or electronic format. We are aware of the need to restrict the movement of data and instructors.

Any suspected/actual unauthorised non-business use or accessing of data would be reported immediately to the body concerned. In the event of the misuse or loss of data, we will follow guidelines laid down by Data Protection.
Data located in our office is secure and is able to be locked with access controlled to authorised personnel only.
If we were to store and/or transfer personal data on laptops, storage devices and other removable media, we would use encrypted laptops and encrypted storage devices and other removable media when handling Departmental information.

We only communicate, exchange, copy, print or store information in accordance with the authorised use of the data and do not share information with any third parties.  We retain personal information only as long as it is required for the reason it was collected or as required by law.  When personal information is no longer needed or required, we have procedures to destroy, delete or erase the data.  A request to destroy, delete or erase data can be made at any time.

We give you the right to access the information we have about you.  To do this, please contact us. We will advise in advance of any minimal charge for conducting a search which can take up to 30 days to retrieve information. We are not able to provide information if it contains reference to other persons or is subject to legal privilege.
We will give you the opportunity to keep your personal information up to date, as having accurate information enables us to give you our best possible service, keep you informed of our charges and up to date with legal developments relevant to our areas of concern.  If you find errors in our information, please let us know so we may make corrections and update our records.

Matt Price Driver Training is committed to equality and diversity for all and we want to help you achieve your learning goals.
Should you need additional assistance because of your disabilities, possibly due to physical or learning difficulties, we will do our best to help you within our own resources.
If your disability requires more help than we are able to directly provide, we will put you in touch with one of our partner organisations that have training programmes for specific disabilities, for example, Literacy and Numeracy Learning Difficulties.

Complaints and Compliments
Matt Price Driver Training want to provide you with a happy and pleasant environment which is conducive to you achieving your learning goal.
If you have a complaint, it is important that we are made aware of any issues or problems, if they arise, as soon as they arise, so we can take action and address the issues or problems straight away. We cannot resolve a problem if we are not aware that one exists.
If you want to highlight any issues or problems you may have, please get in touch for an informal discussion. We can usually sort most problems out at this stage.
But if you feel that the matter has not been resolved through informal discussion then we ask you to put your complaint or grievance in writing straight away to matt@mp-dt.co.uk so we can respond quickly, at the latest within 5 working days, to try resolve the matter.
If you would like to compliment us, we would be delighted to hear from you.  Receiving positive feedback about our service and your training and test experiences gives encouragement to our other customers.

 

GDPR – Fair Processing Notice
Matt Price Driver Training is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. By booking and attending training you are agreeing to be bound by our GDPR policy.

We collect data when you contact us by phone, email and in person, this includes Contact Details, Photographic Image, Driver Licence details, Test details including results and Payment Details to facilitate bookings, training, issuing attendance and qualification certificates, and communicating with GOV.UK .  We may also share this data with our accrediting bodies or authorities.  The duration of time Data is stored is in accordance with the authorities’ requirements.  We may also notify you to changes to our services, provide information or updates to relevant rules and regulations, seek your views or comments on the services we provide, and with your permission send other communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The terms and conditions will form a contract between the “Customer” and Matt Price Driver Training, known as the “Company”.

  • For car lessons, the candidate must be able to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres.
  • The candidate must hold the correct UK or Northern Ireland driving licence before any training commences. This includes Provisional Category B for car lessons, Full Category B for any towing or caravan courses, Provisional Category C, C1 or C1E for any LGV/HGV courses. EU Licences must be exchanged beforehand for a UK licence to be valid for the training and test.
  • For LGV courses, it is solely the responsibility of the Customer to ensure they have the correct LGV provisional entitlement when commencing an LGV course with the company. Failure to produce the correct provisional entitlement will result in the course being cancelled and all course fees being forfeited.
  • The candidate is required by law to bring their licence to all training sessions and to tests.
  • Should the candidate not have their licence with them at all times, the training and/or test cannot go ahead and no refund will be given in these circumstances.
  • A fully insured training vehicle for use on training, and tests where applicable, is supplied as part of the cost.
  • Any vehicle or trailer supplied meets all requirements for the test as set out by the DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency).
  • Should the candidate wish to use their own vehicle and/or trailer, etc, there will be no change to the cost of the course or tests. It should also be noted that the candidate’s vehicle insurance will usually only cover the trailer third party cover only and therefore any damage caused to the supplied trailer is solely the candidate’s responsibility and are liable for any costs incurred.
  • Training will start and finish at the pre-agreed location.
    If the candidate is running late, they should contact Matt Price Driver Training at the earliest opportunity.
  • If in the unlikely event that the trainer is running late, they will try to contact the candidate to give an estimated time of arrival.
  • Course prices, lesson costs and test fees will only be as quoted and not increase in any way.
  • All course fees must be paid in full prior to commencement of any training unless other arrangements have previously been agreed with Matt Price Driver Training.
  • We reserve the right to take any outstanding balances due from the Customers debit/credit card on or after the course start date.
  • Any course cancellation made by the Customer must be made in writing to Matt Price Driver Training.
  • Customers have the right to a 14-day ‘Cooling Off’ period after a course has been purchased whereby the Customer has the right to cancel and receive a refund (minus any non-refundable costs associated with the course booking). However, this right is forfeit if the course booked commences or is completed within the 14-day cooling off period &/or the course booked commences within 14 days of the customer notifying Matt Price Driver Training in writing of a cancellation.
  • Any course cancellation made by the Customer 15 or more days after the course purchase date will incur a 50% administration charge of the total tuition fees, excluding any applicable test fees. All costs associated with any element of training completed prior to the cancellation request will be forfeit.
  • Any course cancellation/amendment (including illness or injury of any kind) made by the customer less than 14 days prior to commencement of any practical training element will result in all course fees, including test fees being forfeit. If the cancellation is due to illness or injury a Customer should reclaim the cost of any test fees from the DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency)directly.
  • Any course cancellation/amendment (including illness or injury of any kind) made by the customer less than 5 days prior to commencement of any medical appointment or theory test booking will result in all test fees being forfeit. If the cancellation is due to illness or injury a Customer should reclaim the cost of any test fees from the DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency)directly.
  • Customers who do not complete their purchased course after 12 months of the initial purchase date will be permitted to complete the course as purchased, but Customers will forfeit all rights to the above refund request procedures & refunds will not be permitted.
  • Matt Price Driver Training reserves the right to terminate any training booked by the Customer if course fees are not paid in full before course start date.
  • Any variations to the joining instructions, course date, time of attendance, etc. will be made in writing by the Company to the Customer. The Company will make all efforts to keep the original agreed course confirmation, however, in the event of a course cancellation imposed by the Company, the Customer will be offered the next available course.
  • All Customers are informed of our terms and conditions which are readily available from our website. All Customers are deemed to have read them before requesting our services or products.
  • Substitution of Customer details for examination purposes may take place, subject to reasonable time being given and subject to the terms and conditions of the examination board.
  • All Customers undertaking any of the training courses are required to adhere to any notices or instructions given to them by any member of the Company’s staff.
  • Where external examinations have been arranged for the Customer by the Company, the Company accepts no liability for the accuracy of customer details should a dispute arise with the external examination body.
  • Every effort is made to ensure course notes, presentations and any relative tuition material is correct at the time of print. Matt Price Driver Training does not accept any responsibility for any errors or omissions.
  • Matt Price Driver Training will not be held responsible for the loss of any personal items left in the vehicle or on the company’s premises.
  • In the event of mechanical breakdown, the Company will provide additional training equal to the amount of time lost.
  • Smoking is not permitted in the Company training vehicles.
  • Should a Customer wish to make a complaint about the Company, then this must be made in writing and sent to the Company Secretary, by recorded delivery within 7 days of the course ending. All complaints will be dealt with fairly as per Matt Price Driver Training’s complaints handling procedure.
  • Customers must be aware that adequate provision is made to ensure that drivers attending courses are able to comply with the rest requirement laid down in Driver Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • The candidate must take full responsibility to revise any pre-training material and to practice the relevant sections where possible.
  • Should the trainer, in their professional opinion feel the candidate has not reached a sufficient standard of competence to take the test and to take full responsibility for the safety of the training vehicle and other road users whilst on the test the Company reserves the right to refuse the use of the training vehicle for the test and no refund will be given.
  • The company cannot be held responsible for any disruptions caused by adverse weather, unforeseen traffic delays, accidents, illness, candidate absence, mechanical breakdown/failure, an act of God or cancellations, postponements, or unknowing movement of test by the DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency).
  • The company cannot be responsible for any practical test being cancelled by the DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency).
  • Should DVSA cancel a LGV practical test, then all efforts will be made to arrange a retest for the Customer.
  • Matt Price Driver Training reserves the right to terminate the course should the candidate prove to be unwilling to carry out instructions given, is felt to be a danger to themselves, other road users, pedestrians, or any other person(s). Inappropriate behaviour or abusive language by the candidate or if the trainer feels that the candidate is suffering from the effects of alcohol, drugs, tiredness, or for any other reason they deem to be acceptable shall result in the termination of the course. Any of the above-mentioned circumstances will result in no refund being given.
  • Any motoring offences committed whilst driving my vehicle remains solely the candidate’s own responsibility.
  • The trainers are fully qualified and have passed the Driving Standards Agency’s strict examinations and any relevant qualifications. Trainer’s standards are also checked periodically by the agency.
