Meet Matt Price
Matt has more than 20 years’ experience in driver training and specialises in Category C1, C1E and trailer towing training.
Over the years, he has trained a wide range of drivers. These include student paramedics, NHS staff, motorhome owners, horse owners and people who need larger vehicle or towing skills for work.
Matt is a DVSA Fleet Driver Trainer and is committed to providing professional, practical training that develops safe driving skills and confidence.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Matt adapts the training to the individual. This allows more time to be spent on the areas where you need it most.
Specialist C1 Driver Training
MPDT provides Category C1 driver training for people who need to drive vehicles between 3,500kg and 7,500kg.
This includes student paramedics and NHS staff, as well as drivers of motorhomes, horseboxes and other larger vehicles.
C1 practical training is carried out 1-to-1 in the Guildford area. Training takes place in an automatic Mercedes Sprinter, allowing you to concentrate on handling the larger vehicle, observation and positioning.
If you already hold a manual car licence, passing your C1 test in an automatic will still give you manual C1 entitlement.
Professional Towing Training
MPDT also provides practical towing courses for private individuals and businesses.
Training covers the skills needed to tow safely and confidently, including hitching and unhitching, reversing, manoeuvring, loading, weight distribution, safety checks and on-road driving techniques.
Courses are suitable for a wide range of trailers, including caravans, horse trailers, utility trailers, plant trailers and car transporters.
Matt is Safe Towing Scheme and DIA approved, and training is available for both leisure and workplace towing.
Personal, One-to-One Driver Training
One of the main advantages of training with MPDT is the personal approach. Most courses are conducted 1-to-1, so your training time is dedicated to you.
You’ll also deal directly with Matt rather than being passed between an office, booking agent and different instructors.
This makes it easier to discuss your experience, any areas you’re concerned about and what you want to achieve from the training.
Training in Guildford & Farnborough
Our specialist training is conveniently located for drivers across Surrey, Hampshire and the surrounding areas.
C1 driver training is carried out in the Guildford area, including preparation for the practical C1 tests.
Towing courses take place at our dedicated training ground in Farnborough, close to Junction 4 of the M3 and the Surrey/Hampshire border.
Customers regularly travel to us from Guildford, Farnborough, Woking, Farnham, Aldershot and surrounding areas, as well as from further afield for specialist C1 and towing training.
